·         It is a fipronil based phenyl pyrazole insecticide, which is very effective for controlling stem borer and leaf folder in rice.

·         Mode of Action:

·         Fipronil 0.6 GR primarily acts as an ingestion toxicant with some complementary contact action thereby interfering with nerve impulse transmission. It blocks Gamma Amino Butyric Acid (GABA)-gated chloride channels in the central nervous system. Disruption of the GABAA receptors prevents the chloride ions update resulting in excess neuronal stimulation and death of the target insect.
